Bringing hands-on science to more communities
Aberdeen Science Centre works with community groups, charities and local organisations to help more people access, enjoy and engage with science.
Our community engagement work supports groups across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray, including audiences who may not regularly visit science centres, take part in STEM activities or see science as something designed for them.
Flexible science activities for community groups
Aberdeen Science Centre can support community groups through in-centre visits, group workshops and outreach activity delivered in community settings.
Our team can help groups explore science in a practical, accessible and engaging way, with activities designed to suit different ages, interests and support needs.
Group visits to the centre
Community groups can visit Aberdeen Science Centre for a hands-on experience that includes exhibition floor time and a workshop delivered by the ASC team.
Group visits can include space for belongings and an area for snacks or packed lunch, helping organisers plan a visit that works for their group.
Group workshops
ASC offers workshop options that help participants explore science through practical activity, discussion and shared discovery.
Workshops can be suitable for children, young people, families or mixed-age groups, depending on the activity and group needs.
ASC in the Community
Aberdeen Science Centre can also bring science activities to community locations, making it easier for groups to take part without travelling to the centre.
Outreach sessions can be tailored for different audiences, including younger children, older learners, adult groups and community organisations looking for accessible STEM engagement.

On the day, your group will be welcomed by the ASC team and guided through the planned visit format, including exhibition time and any booked workshop activity.
